Intro: C D

Verse 1:
      G
I was distracted and in traffic
          Em
I didn't feel it when the earthquake happened
                     C
But it really got me thinkin', were you out drinkin'?
                D
Were you in the living room, chillin' watchin' television?
           G
It's been a year now, think I've figured out how
               Em
How to let you go and let communication die out

Pre-Chorus:
C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know you weren't down for forever and it's fine
 C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know we weren't meant for each other and it's fine

Chorus:
                                       C
But if the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                          D
You'd come over and you'd stay the night
                          G
Would you love me for the hell of it?
                       Em
All our fears would be irrelevant
                                   C
If the world was ending you'd come over right?
                             D
The sky'd be falling and I'd hold you tight
                        G
And there wouldn't be a reason why
                      Em
We would even have to say goodbye
                                   C D
If the world was ending you'd come over, right? Right?
                                   G Em
If the world was ending you'd come over, right? Right?

Verse 2:
           G
I tried to imagine your reaction
          Em
It didn't scare me when the earthquake happened
                     C
But it really got me thinkin', that night we went drinkin'
                D
Stumbled in the house and didn't make it past the kitchen
                G
Ah, it's been a year now, think I've figured out how
                       Em
How to think about you without it rippin' my heart out

Pre-Chorus:
C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know you weren't down for forever and it's fine
C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know we weren't meant for each other and it's fine

Chorus:
                                       C
But if the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                          D
You'd come over and you'd stay the night
                          G
Would you love me for the hell of it?
                       Em
All our fears would be irrelevant
                                   C
If the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                               D
The sky'd be falling while I'd hold you tight
                        G
No, there wouldn't be a reason why
                      Em
We would even have to say goodbye
                                   C
If the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                  D G Em
You'd come over, right? You'd come over, you'd come over, you'd come over, right?

Pre-Chorus:
C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know you weren't down for forever and it's fine
C D Em G C
I know, you know, we know we weren't meant for each other and it's fine

Chorus:
                                       C
But if the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                          D
You'd come over and you'd stay the night
                          G
Would you love me for the hell of it?
                        Em
All our fears would be irrelevant
                              C
If the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                               D
The sky'd be falling while I'd hold you tight
                       G
No there wouldn't be a reason why
                      Em
We would even have to say goodbye
                 C D
If the world was ending you'd come over, right?
                                                    G Em
You'd come over, you'd come over, you'd come over, right?

my Mind: when was this wrote????

Emma

If you are a beginner i would recommend going to -1. It’s pretty simple.

Natalia

That worked best for me. If you want the song to have a more minor tone then you could switch G to E and C to Cmaj7. I think it sounds good!

amelia_melody

I agree. -1 is definitely easy and it also sound on tune with the song. Thanks Emma!

Lulu

Ab doesn’t sound quite right…

meg

its three bars up not two – i used to make this mistake!

cosmai

It shows that it’s on bar three but my blind ass couldn’t see it 😔

Tiff

Yeah ab sounds off

ChillKitt

The tips at the top are really good, (transpose -1, capo on the first fret) personally, i think those chords not only a bit more accurate but are also wayyyy easier when it comes to transitioning without being unnecessarily complicated.

Delis

does anyone know a strumming patern for this.

Im trying to learn this song so i guess if i want it to be perfect i’d have to have a strumming patern. thank you!!

ChillKitt

I don’t think a strum pattern is needed, it’d really throw off the desperate and sad vibe the song is going for. But, if you HAD to have one it’d be D U DD

Delis

oh thank you!

evelynruth

luv this song

Cass

if i’m being completely honest, playing the easier part with a capo doesn’t sound as good as without

ANd i oOp

is there a strumming pattern? If so what is it?
