This is really a great tune to practice your barre chords and transitions between them. And unless you have to transpose it to fit your vocal range, I’d recommend trying to play this in its original key, barre chords and all. How else are you going to get any better? :-) The Bb, Dbm, and E chords can all be barred with the Dbm in the third inversion (barre the 4th fret and put ring finger on G string, 6th fret). Barring all 3 of these chords makes it super easy to transition between them. It also sounds better (IMV) and makes it easier to play with better strumming patterns.

Speaking of which…For the reggae-type feel Jason Mraz likes to use in so many of his songs, including this one, I like to pick the G string then D-U-chunk-U. This pattern gives that syncopated reggae rhythm (oom-papa-oom-pa) You can use this pattern throughout the song with minor modifications in the Bridge and maybe a few other places.

Stop dying it's just a joke

-4 my dudes

kaleah herzet

yeah but does it sound good still.

The Uke

I think that -4 probably has the easiest chords in it.

Ashley

-4 is the easiest

Shrekismyfav

For the strumming pattern is do ddu but one of the d harder so DduDdu :)

Cheeto

Wow this song is bootiful but it hurts to move my fingers like that

Sarah Brown

Just transpose to -4

Bertha

It is really good, but it is missing one of the parts of the song, so I’m disapointed because of that.

sorry if this sounds rude, but why did you add the link to the same page we are on?
(again, sorry) :)

I don’t understand how you can’t recommend strumming patterns. There are a million Youtube videos that literally teach you how to play a song: chords and or tabs, along with strumming patern

akatsadventure

+3 is easier chords and better for higher voices!
