Intro -x2-: Dm Bb F

Dm Bb F
Walking down 29th and Park
Dm Bb F
I saw you in another’s arms
Dm Bb F
Only a month we’ve been apart
          Dm Bb F
You look happier
Dm Bb F
Saw you walk inside a bar
Dm Bb F
He said something to make you laugh
Dm Bb F
I saw that both your smiles were twice as wide as ours
               Dm Bb F
Yeah, you look happier, you do

Dm Bb F
Ain’t nobody hurt you like I hurt you
     Dm Bb F
But ain’t nobody love you like I do
Dm Bb F
Promise that I will not take it personal, baby
Dm Bb F
If you’re moving on with someone new

                     Dm Bb F
Cause baby you look happier, you do
                    Dm Bb F
My friends told me one day I’d feel it too
                    Dm Bb F
And until then I'll smile to hide the truth
                  Dm Bb F
But I know I was happier with you

Dm Bb F
Sat in the corner of the room
Dm Bb F
Everything’s reminding me of you
Dm Bb F Dm
Nursing an empty bottle and telling myself you’re happier
Bb F
Aren’t you?

Dm Bb F
Ain’t nobody hurt you like I hurt you
     Dm Bb F
But ain’t nobody need you like I do
Dm Bb F
I know that there’s others that deserve you
        Dm Bb F
But my darling, I am still in love with you

                     Dm Bb F
But I guess you look happier, you do
                       Dm Bb F
My friends told me one day I’ll feel it too
                Dm Bb F
I could try to smile to hide the truth
                 Dm Bb F
But I know I was happier with you

Interlude -x2-:
Heya heya heya
Dm Bb F

                Dm Bb F
Baby, you look happier, you do
                     Dm Bb F
I knew one day you’d fall for someone new
                      Dm Bb F
But if he breaks your heart like lovers do
                       Dm Bb F
Just know that I’ll be waiting here for you

  1. someinterestingname

I like it as is at first, but I think +2 is really pretty!

  2. anonomysdancerk

I really love this song. I think that it is easy enough for beginners (like me) but complex sounding enough for more advanced players. :)

  3. I love Ed. Sadly, most of his songs are too hard for me….BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!!!!!!! :)

  4. I use DDUUDU and it really works! also for affect sometimes its cool to just do one strum for each chord. ;)

  5. Banana lover

I love Ed Sheerans songs, especially on a he ukulele. The strumming pattern I use is, DDU-DDU-DDU-UDU

  6. the second verse is great if you only play one strum on each chord until ” you’re happier aren’t you”

  7. Loranlovesukulele

That ‘down down up’ helps! Its a really nice song and i love ed sheeran and the ukulele AND your tips!?

  8. I use DDUD

  9. I am learning how to play this song for an open mic. I love it so much. I am also using as a pattern dudu

  14. brooklyn_louis

  16. try down up down up

  17. The pattern “D-D-U-U-D-U” works best for me.

  18. i’m using d-d,u-d-u but not sure if it sounds right. it fits the rhythm though.

  19. What Strumming pattern would be the best??

  20. Hi, I’d just like to say that I prefer the sound of the -5 chords versus the 0 ones, and they are super easy too. That’s just my opinion, though. :)
