Most of 21’s lyrics refer to Adele working through the ending of a relationship including this song. She recalled to The Daily Telegraph; “When I did ‘Someone Like You’ live on Jools Holland, I got so upset wondering and hoping and wishing that my ex would be watching it, I went back to my dressing room and sobbed. Making a record is like standing in the middle of Trafalgar Square naked, you let everyone see your good bits and bad bits. I don’t know what possesses me to do that, but I’m not good at anything else.” -Source Someone Like You Songfacts-.

The very last time I sing the chorus I like to sing harmony. On the second-to-last time you sing “Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead” I transition back to the normal melody while singing “instead”, if anyone else is interested.

  2. -2 is very simple and accurate for my voice

  3. Sydney.Music

So I learned this on piano a long time ago and on the keys it transitions from the A to a C#m not E

  4. i pick 4,1,3,2 and for the chorus/bridge i do 4,2,4,2

  5. What’s the strum pattern

  6. BrookeandHerUke

I find it a whole lost easier to play C,G,Am,F the full song. It’s easy for beginners and still sounds great.

  7. Je no penser E. Je suis desolée je no parley anglaise.

  8. So, I am a female tenor, what is an easy way for me to play/sing to so that the chords are easier, and the pitch for my voice is lower?

  9. use em7 instead of E! Sounds better and tons easier!!
    A—-2——-
    E————
    C—-2——-
    G—-1——-

  10. HappyLilUkuleleMonster

Amber!! THX!!!!! That is a lot easier!!!

  11. for e put index finger on 4th string 2nd fret and the other 3 fingers on 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings on 4th fret. sounds exactly like E and is much Easier.

  12. Whats the stum pattern?

  13. DoNotFret

-2 is the easiest for me!!

  14. If you are having a hard time with the E, play -2, it still sounds great and all of the notes are simple.

  15. I have a hard time playing the E chord because my hands are SO small, so I play the A string on the second fret and the C string on the fourth fret. It sounds somewhat the same and the people I play for tend to like it. Hope that helps, lol.

  16. Ukulele Lover

Even though it’s a little high, I find +3 the easiest. I hope this helped some of you

  17. I’m learning this song but it only uses the chords G, D, Em, c, and Am which i find to be mush easier.

  18. Penguins, every time after you tune the strings, put your finger under the strings and pull them slightly up. After awhile it should fix the string

  19. Em doesn’t always work as a substitute for E :D
