This was me who requested this, (thank you for publishing it =D ) a nice strumming pattern would be single slow strums down hitting each string individually.

Also if you want to do this as they do in the play, the first chorus is a single male singer with a low voice.
The second chorus is sung by males (the ABC cafe/students).
The third chorus is sung by men (ABC cafe/students) and then echoed by women (lovey ladies). then when you reach “at the shrine of friendship, never say die”, this is sung by the women and men are silent. Remember on the next line “Let the wine of friendship never, run dry” there is a pause (no singing or strumming) between “never” and “run dry”

Please respect this song, it is one of the best male led harmonies ever written, perform it nicely.

Couldn’t have said it better myself SJ. Glad there’s someone else out there that respects the MUSICAL, not the MOVIE.

Do not ask for strumming patterns. Sharing online how to literally play a song (i.e. strumming patterns, rhythm and tempo) is not allowed by the MPA (Music Publishers Association) because of copyright issues.

Carefully listen to the song and "feel" the rhythm. Once you get the basics of strumming, it'll go real quick. Maybe the strumming guide can help you.
