Absolutely love this song! Singing and playing it for my boyfriend on V-day! If you turn it down 2 notches, it’s actually the same as the original. :)

  • Berraweiss says:

Great chords <3 I love this song but one little thing, in the last line of the chorus instead of playing d, play cm. hope this helps

  • ooopsnevermind says:

Agree with Berraweiss, using Cm for the lyrics “take me” in the last line works better.

  • Kyle says:

I like to use Em9 instead of a C chord.

  • Kyle says:

I messed up it’s not an Em9. Just bar the bottom two string of the third fret. G0 C0 E3 A3

  • freebush13 says:

Thanks so much for these tabs! It’s perfect!

  • Emma says:

Love this, took both of the suggestions above. Definitely a favorite.

  • ukegirl123 says:

instead of a c on the “take me”, i use Bbm…sounds perfect when i use that.

  • UncleJordy says:

on that “take me” part, try C# then C.

  • alan says:

yup! agree with macelira93–hit the -2 button at the top, and it sounds just like the song.

  • Izzy fielder says:

Love this song but if you tone it down 2 notches it reache the original. F, A#, Dm, C. Hope this helps!

  • Meadia says:

    Great song! Minor tips:

First, transpose down 2 half steps for original key of F.

Then, chords for the line “And you take me the way I am” should be as follows:

    “And (Bb)you … (Bbm)take me the way I (F)am.”

Finally, the last three repeats of this same line at the end of the song are as follows:

    “And (Bb)you … (Bbm)take me the way I (Dm)am .. (Am)”
    “And (Bb)you … (Bbm)take me the way I (Dm)am .. (G7)”
    “And (Bb)you … (Bbm)take me the (C)way I (F)am.”

    Love the song.
I prefer this key, as it is really easy to do the chords—which are not entirely correct in this version. Instead of the C Maj, try doing C Maj7. And in the last line of each verse, the second chord is Cdim instead of DMaj. There are different chords in the tag ending as well, but I want to keep some secrets.

Do not ask for strumming patterns. Sharing online how to literally play a song (i.e. strumming patterns, rhythm and tempo) is not allowed by the MPA (Music Publishers Association) because of copyright issues.

Carefully listen to the song and "feel" the rhythm. Once you get the basics of strumming, it'll go real quick. Maybe the strumming guide can help you.
